Rose Cullis

Rose Cullis is a playwright/writer/educator who celebrates all forms of writing and performance in their work. They’ve had short stories, plays and monologues published in a number of theme-based anthologies, and other writing in This Magazine, Event Magazine, Brick and Vallum. For years they performed in queer-themed cabarets like Hysteria and Cheap Queers and have presented new work in Summerworks, The Fringe Festival and in the Rhubarb Festival at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto. Cullis completed an MFA at Guelph University and a Masters of Environmental Studies (Mes) at York University.They wrote the text for a new play with music called After/BAAL at Sage Hill, and developed it at Banff’s Performing Arts Creative Lab in 2022. The creative team for After/BAAL received grants to workshop the play in two phases: fall ‘23 and fall ‘24, and are anticipating a full production in 2025.
