In Rock On The Shore, artists Charlie Hunter and Mike Wyeld (known collectively as LOVED) explore identity through the metaphor of geological erosion and iterative decay, considering the Queer art of scavenging as a key technique.
Drawing parallels between the weathered rocks and found items in the ecosystems of Ontario’s expansive lake shores and those of the Thames Estuary, they reflect on the iterative process of personal and collective identity formation—a central experience in queer lives.
LOVED: Heroic stories of passion and acceptance.
Launched in 2015, LOVED is an analogue and digital gallery work by Charlie Hunter and Mike Wyeld.
While myths of beauty and ideas around body shape , fitness, even obesity are hotly debated in mainstream culture, some people have found acceptance in new movements, formed new alliances, and set in motion new ideas, they are “LOVED”.
